We do not have any snow on the ground yet, but I am optimistic.
This is a shot I took just after Christmas last year.... .
I don't mind the snow and the cold…I just hate being cold.
I'm one of those people who bundle up like crazy and
waddle around the driveway with a shovel. I use the snowblower
when the snow gets stupid deep.

A Visual Book Review
Just finished reading "The Sisters Brothers"
by Patrick deWitt. An excellent western
following Eli and Charlie Sisters, a couple of hired guns.

About 3 weeks ago my Mom asked me if I had replaced the washer hose going into the back of my washer in the past 5 years. Our washer is only 3 years old so I wasn't too concerned about it. It had been 15 years on the old machine without incident. Apparently you are supposed to change them every 3 - 5 years. Coincidently my good friend Chris recently told me his washer hose burst, filling his laundry room in his basement with water. The carpets sealed both the door and the drain spout on the floor. When he opened the laundry room door he got soaked. The water was spraying onto his fuse box.
I added the electrical sparks for dramatical tension. His fuse box has a really good seal on it.
I added the fish for fun.

Note to the blogger noob...
It took me 4 days to realize Penny had me listed in her blog roll.
I confessed to being quite new at this whole blogging thing and she commented
that she was the opposite of a blogger noob. I had to put this caricature together.
Penny posted it on her site.

Addy at the Spa
My brother's Border Collie Addy really enjoyed staying at his place last week.
She had to share her spa experience with her bud Elmo.

The Plaque as 'Carry On'
ok…the back story...Max used to tell me that if you threw enough sh%# at a wall something was bound to stick. I kept trying new ideas and got involved with new projects all the time..I still do…..Max told his good friend Ted, a cattle farmer, about his theory and our conversations. After spending months looking, Ted found the 'perfectly' dried cow patty. He shoveled it up and brought it back to his garage/barn and shellacked the heck out of it, then gave it Max. Max had a plaque engraved with "Keep Throwing, Some Will Stick", glued it to the now shiny, shellacked cow patty and gave it to me.
The reaction I get is quite extreme. Either people find it really funny, or they feel a bit ill. It's been looking for the perfect wall space since then.

1920 Ford Model 'T'
I took this photograph at Rockcliffe Park in Ottawa this summer.
This 1920 Model 'T' Ford was originally restored by Ron, Kathy's father.
Since we transported her to Ottawa, I found a new and wonderful hobby.
It is so peaceful tinkering with this amazing work of art. Every time it fires up
I feel so lucky to hear it putter away and feel it shake and move rhythmically.

Flash on the iPad3?
I put this sketch together the morning it was announced that Steve Jobs had stepped down. The one line emails were flying about between my friends at Pip Animation. I took the lines and plugged them into this drawing.
Mother Earth
I took this photo in our back yard last week before all this rain started coming down.
Kathy made the clay sculpture while at Sheridan College.
I love the red leaves next to the deep shades of green.

Symphony in Yellow
"Symphony in Yellow"
is a poem that Kathy wrote and recorded. I pitched her voice
and animated this little short in front of Lemon Lilies that
I recorded in our garden last summer.

"Creating Money Visualization" model sheet
This is the model sheet I put together before I animated the short 'Creating Money Visualization' for Tana Saler. She recorded her voice and I used the audio track to animate to. The turn around was very quick. It took 2 weeks from start to finish and I had a lot of fun creating and animating under a tight deadline.
